RB Ben Tate Returns To Practice As Browns Get Back To Work

CBS Cleveland

BEREA (92.3 The Fan) – Running back Ben Tate returned to practice Tuesday as the Cleveland Browns returned to work fresh off their bye week.

Tate, sidelined since the team’s opener at Pittsburgh, wore a brace on his right knee as he took the first reps in various drills.

Tate sprained his knee in the first half following a 25-yard run against the Steelers. He finished with 41 yards on just 6 carries before being forced to depart.

Rookies Terrance West and Isaiah Crowell have combined for 345 yards and 5 touchdowns this season but have struggled in the passing game accounting for just 5 catches for 30 yards.

Tate said last week that despite the production on the ground from the duo, referred to as the ‘baby backs,’ he expects to retain his starting role.

The Browns signed Tate in the offseason to a 2-year $6.2 million deal.
