CLEVELAND (92.3 The Fan) – Forget Johnny Football.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel unveiled a different persona in a new Snickers Ad – Johnny JamBoogie.

Manziel plays an aerobics instructor in the new 30-second ad who apparently just needed to eat a Snickers to remember who he really was.

This isn’t the first commercial for the Browns rookie quarterback. Manziel has already been featured in spots for McDonalds and Nissan. He has also signed endorsement deals with Nike and MusclePharm.

Josh Gordon Loses Appeal; Suspension Upheld

CLEVELAND (92.3 The Fan) – Josh Gordon will not play in 2014.

Gordon’s appeal of a year-long suspension was denied and the initial ruling by the NFL upheld.

“Appeals officer Harold Henderson has upheld the suspension for the 2014 NFL season of Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse. The suspension is effective immediately.

“Gordon’s eligibility for reinstatement will be determined following the 2014 season.”

Indians 1B/DH Nick Swisher Done For Season, To Undergo Surgery On Both Knees

Nick Swisher will undergo surgery on both of his knees on Wednesday, the Cleveland Indians have announced.

Swisher, 33, will miss the remainder of the 2014 season. Following surgery, the club estimates the switch-hitter will need 8-to-10 weeks of recovery time.

The first baseman and DH hit .208 with eight homers and 42 RBI in 97 games for Cleveland this season.

Beyond 2014, the club still owes Swisher $30 million over the next two seasons (2015-2016).

Mike Pettine, Browns Name Brian Hoyer Starting QB

CLEVELAND (92.3 The Fan) – Brian Hoyer will get the opportunity to live out his childhood dream.

Hoyer, who grew up in North Olmsted, stared at St. Ignatius High School and was a die hard Browns fan in his youth, will start again for his hometown team this fall.

He was named the starting quarterback for the Browns Wednesday morning and the decision from head coach Mike Pettine comes as little surprise.

“He was the clear leader from the beginning,” Pettine said. “We’ve maintained all along that if it was close, I would prefer to go with the more experienced player. Brian has done a great job in the meeting rooms and with his teammates on the practice field and in the locker room.”

Hoyer received exclusive reps with the first-team offense in 12 of the 16 training camp practices and he started both preseason games.

Reports: Ohio State QB Braxton Miller Injures Should, Out For Season

COLUMBUS, Ohio (CBS Sports/AP) —According to multiple reports, Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller will miss the entire 2014 season because of a right shoulder injury.

Sources tell‘s Jeremy Fowler there’s a fear internally Miller will miss season but no official word has circulated in the football offices and Miller is scheduled to meet with a doctor at 3 p.m. ET.

The school had refused to comment on The Columbus Dispatch report but canceled scheduled interviews Tuesday for the fifth-ranked Buckeyes. School spokesman Jerry Emig did not say if Miller had medical tests or confirm Miller was hurt.

The reigning two-time Big Ten offensive player of the year injured his right shoulder on a simple throw Monday afternoon, the Dispatch said.
