Momentum is building for Josh McDaniels to become the next head coach for the Cleveland Browns. There are even reports that the Browns are just looking at other coaches to seem like they’ve done their due diligence though they have already decided on McDaniels.
The Browns will meet with McDaniels on Saturday. They will also meet with Seahawks DC Dan Quinn on Wednesday. CBS’ Jason LaCanfora believes that it’ll either be McDaniels or one of the college coaches getting the gig in Cleveland.
There is is one thing we know about McDaniels – he likes his quarterbacks. He fought to get Matt Cassel while in Denver, but had to settle for Kyle Orton. Cassel could be a trade target of he were to get the job and could be a mentor to Brian Hoyer if Cleveland chooses to keep him in the drivers seat. Another player we know McDaniels will have his eye on if he takes the job in Cleveland is the Patriot’s backup QB Ryan Mallett.
The rebuilding continues in the Cleveland!
